NOTD: OPI's Done Out In Deco
Been super busy ever since uni started and it's getting more hectic with coursework after coursework piling up all within 3 weeks. So don't expect much posts if you read regularly.
I'm wearing OPI's Done out in deco nail polish right now. It's such a pretty purple that I can't stop staring at my hands all the time. And for the first time I managed to paint my nails without any smudging. I think it's all thanks to the wonderful OPI formula and the Essie Protein Base Coat I applied underneath it. Two coats of nail polish and no top coat. Have yet to get a good one. The Rimmel one I have gives me a lot of air bubbles.

Sorry about the blurry picture. Was taken with my phone.

Hair Care
Why does my hair look its best when I'm sitting at home with nowhere to go and when I want to go out poof! Bad hair day!
My hair is now officially long by my own standards. It reaches the middle of my back after growing it for more than a year with regular trims in between. My last haircut was on the 27th of June and I think I should be getting another one soon but I'm reluctant to lose even a little bit of length. I usually wait till it looks unruly and beyond manageable. Let's start off with my hair type. Like my skin I have combination hair. Boo! Oily scalp with normal to dry ends. It's slightly wavy and when the weather is humid, it frizzes like crazy. So how do I care for my hair?
First, the hair products I use:
- Everyday shampoo
- Clarifying shampoo
- Conditioner
- Mask
My everyday shampoo is Head&Shoulders. And thanks to my oily scalp I wash my hair every day at the end of the day. I'm currently using the thick and long one but the anti-hairfall one is my favourite. I get dandruff occasionally and it's worse if I'm stressed out hence H&S. It works for my oily scalp and I've never had any dandruff since I started using it.
Since I do style my hair and there's product build up I use a clarifying shampoo once a week. The one I'm using is the L'Occitane Clarifying Shampoo which comes in a purple see-thru bottle. It smells like lavender and it leaves my hair squeaky clean and soft. My sister bought it and didn't like it so it's now mine:) However I probably won't repurchase because it's rather expensive and I might've found a cheaper alternative in the new L'oreal Elseve Nutri-gloss Light, the lighter version of their pink shine enhancing shampoo.
For conditioner I picked up the pink Sunsilk one on a whim at Watson's one day and surprisingly, I liked it! It's the Smooth & Manageable one and it really leaves my hair smoother and more manageable. I've repurchased this one. But right now the one I'm using is from their more expensive Style range which come in silver tubes but I don't like it somehow. I only got it because I had run out and the pink one was out of stock when I went to a nearby shop to get it. Then Watson's had a sale on the pink ones and I got myself 2 tubes to stock up.
Since I like the pink Sunsilk conditioner so much I thought I'd try their mask as well. I was previously using the Clairol Long Term Relationship one and I felt it did nothing for me. This one is somewhat similar. Doesn't do anything for me eventhough I use it twice a week so I think I'll have to keep on trying till I find one that works for me. I read some pretty good things about the L'oreal Elseve Nutri-gloss one so I might just try that next.
I also have some leave in conditioner and hair capsules but I'm not very consistent with those as I feel they weigh my hair down unless I'm blowdrying.
So that's it, my hair care routine. If you have something that works well, do share. Next up would be hair styling.

Mini Combined Haul
I've been a good girl and not bought any makeup for a while. I even imposed a credit card ban on myself for a month. But since school's about to start I figured I'd get some stuff here and there.

I first got my hands on the famous Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion mid last year and am still using the same bottle till now. This stuff is seriously amazing. I got a bottle for my sister too and we swear by it! With it underneath our eye makeup, we can seriously be out a whole day without it creasing or fading and we both have oily lids. The unfortunate part however is that it is not sold locally and we had to import it from the US. Sgdrugstore on forum.lowyat.net is a saviour when it comes to this and I ordered us one each when Urban Decay was having a 30% off sale. This time I got mine in a new shade called Sin which is champagne coloured as oppose to the usual colorless one which my sister got. I've yet to use it but I read reviews online that it is pretty much the same thing but with a shimmery colour to it.
Just last week, my sister and I were shopping in Bangsar and we stopped by the Laura Mercier counter in BV2. We discovered that other counters would send their out of season stock over to BV2 to be sold at half price or 30% off. This only applies to certain products and I got a good deal on their Signature Toolbox which was half price. It comes in a palette with two levels and the top contains five lip colours and a lip brush; and the bottom contains five powder eyeshadows and a dual-ended eyeshadow brush. The toolbox also comes with an antique gold mini eyeliner. I think it's perfect for travelling and the colours are really gorgeous and wearable. My sister got a cute little 3 colour eyeshadow palette for less than RM70. Unfortunately my favourite lip balm ever was not discounted.
(l-r): Passion Fruit, Caramel, Fresh Brown, Audrey, Dry Rose; eyeliner in Black GoldThe eyeliner is the one and the same in both pics. The top level has a hole for the eyeliner to come through. The lip colours are very neutral everyday shades but the two at the far right can be a tad dark but since they're berry shades I wouldn't mind wearing them if I do a really neutral eye. The first two on the left are pretty much nude to MLBB shades.
(l-r): Buttercream, Shale, Putty, Cognac, PewterI love all the eyeshadow colours. All of them are very pigmented and have very slight shimmer, pretty much like the texture of the MAC Satin eyeshadows. Perfect for day-to-night looks. Buttercream is a great highlight and is very creamy in texture. Shale is pretty similar to MAC's Shale haha but is a lot more muted and less shimmer. I love wearing this on the lid. Putty is a matte light gray colour and makes a very good transition colour. Cognac is a bronzy metallic shade which is slightly similar to my Shiseido Maquillage RD734. Last but not least, Pewter is my favourite shadow in the palette. It's the perfect smoky gray colour ever and I see myself using it as both a lid and a crease colour.
Then finally I entered a MAC store. It was like coming home=p Since I was on a credit card ban I stopped looking at upcoming collections and like my sister said was sloppy, till I nearly missed out on the pretty re-released Starflash eyeshadows. The colour I really wanted was Smoke & Diamonds but it was already sold out at the MV branch. Thankfully it's still available at the Sunway Pyramid one and I got it yesterday along with another Pro Palette and Blackground Paintpot. I depotted the shadow already that's why it looks like that and I rearranged my shadows into the two palettes-one for neutrals and one for colours. Smoke & Diamonds is a pretty silvery gray shadow with a slight tinge of gold IMO. Like all Starflash shadows it's very silky smooth in texture. It's different from Pewter shadow from my LM Toolbox but just as gorgeous. Blackground paintpot is a dark gray or light black cream shadow with slight shimmers. It's a perfect base for smoky looks and looks great under bright or light colours too.
Here are my two palettes now. The pots from the shadows can be given back to MAC for recycling and with every 6 empty containers you return, you get a free lipstick.

Neutral palette (l-r): 1st row- Carbon, Gesso, All That Glitters; 2nd row- Vanilla, Smoke&Diamonds, Time&Space; 3rd row-Shroom, Satin Taupe, Romp
Colour palette (l-r): 1st row-Purple Red Earth shadow, Humid, Sketch, Soft Flower; 2nd row- Contrast, Swimming, Wintersky, Paradisco; 3rd row- Chill Blue, Aquavert, Mink&Sable
School starts on Monday and I'm in the midst of preparing to move into a new room which is closer to uni. I'll probably do a hair post before that.

Outfits: Chill Independence
Happy National Day Everyone! 52 years of independence. Sad that we don't get a fresh Yasmin Ahmad ad this year (or ever T_T) to commemorate the event. End of August means my summer holidays are ending soon and I'll be back in uni before you know it. Ho hum. With two thirds of the class already graduated, I'm not really looking forward to returning.
I've put on weight. Trying hard to lose it though. But the weather isn't very cooperative and I hate exercising at home. I also can't pose for nuts.

Love these heels that I got in Sg. Wang. Spotted the same design in Charles&Keith recently for double the price. The tunic top has a sash to tie a ribbon at the back.

Tunic, Forever 21; Leggings and inner tube, night market; Patent leather heels, Sg. Wang; Watch, Guess; Bangles, gift from Prema; Hair clip, market.
